Larry Gross•2 years ago Cummer Ave is a busy two lane route. It has traffic that is local, as well as traffic from Mcnicol that may originate as far away as Warden, or Victoria Park, short cutting through our neighbourhoods. Long distance mcnicol commuters should not be jamming Cummer, from Leslie, during the morning commute, and becoming irate, as they head west through our residential neighbourhoods towards Yonge. This traffic should be redirected to Steeles, or Finch through traffic calming measures. Perhaps bus and ridesharing only restrictions should be placed on drivers entering Cummer from Mcnichol during the morning commute. Near the health care facilities at Willowdale there should be noise monitoring equipment that automatically tickets loud vehicles operating without functioning mufflers. To combat overnight speeding, electronic speed enforcement should be installed on Cummer, between Willowdale ave, and Bayview ave. On Royal Orchard blvd in Thornhill, traffic has been calmed with the use of meandering lane painting on the road. On some stretches of Cummer, near the health care centres, there may be room to introduce curving lane markings, to slow traffic.
