Ron Brosseau•2 years ago I do not see the Glendora “off leash park” as an improvement to the area, but rather a detriment. The existing area is constantly used by a wide range of people, school children, summer school kids, sunbathers, picnickers and yes people with dogs, but not in concentration. The area itself would not perform well to a heavy load of dogs as it is prone to light flooding after heavy rains and any runoff would be towards the water park. Spring is an especially bad time as the melt water collects there and the area becomes extremely muddy. This would not be very nice if the waste of a concentrated area of dogs was to happen, on or off leash. My wife and I have lived here more than 40 years and have seen the park grow with activity as more and more people enjoy what it offers as it now exists. It has improved from the simple swings and scary slide that our children used, to a much safer activity area. This current proposal would take away one of the flat areas that is constantly used, which would then be detrimental to the other flat area which is also used by many people plus it is were the natural ice rink is located. This is an existing well used Pleasure park and the inclusion of a concentration of dogs on or off is in opposition to its purpose.
