Turn Gladys Allison Place, between Hillcrest and Princess, into an extension to Lee Lifeson Park

From "PB 2026: Share Your Ideas, Willowdale East!"

Go to the project

Gladys Allison Place between Hillcrest and Princess has no private property accesses or driveways of any kind. It is an unnecessary window street that could be repurposed as an extension of Lee Lifeson Park (see drawing below). On the south end, Gladys Allison could just curve into Hillcrest. On the north end, Princess could be opened up potentially, and a full traffic signal could replace the existing pedestrian crossing. Alternatively, a cul de sac could be installed at the end of Princess. Although I would suggest this be a regular street opening, as it is already used as a busy pedestrian crossing and could reduce traffic on Empress, which is over-strained as it is the only full access into Willowdale East.
