Removing the Fence on the TTC Parking Lot

From "Lets Talk Traffic Willowdale"

Go to the project

At the TTC Parking Lot on Bishop Ave, there is the Finch Hydro Corridor trail that connects east and west. However, the path between the parking lot and the YRT/GO station is an incredibly narrow sidewalk, which becomes a needless bottleneck for pedestrians and cyclists.

During rush hour, people are waiting on the narrow sidewalk for their ride, creating an awkward single-file line or forcing people to walk on the road with live traffic to get around.

At the moment, a chain fence blocks the path, which should be opened to allow more pedestrians and cyclists to move freely to and from the parking lot. Heck, you can design it so there is a wider dedicated sidewalk, and cyclists can ride on the road where the taxis are parked (and please make the taxis not park next to each other just to yap, please) and shoot out onto the road with painted sharrows.

It honestly isn't a difficult request to increase the entrance size, and it would improve the quality of life for everyone with no negative impact.

Strongly agree with this one, especially as the current fence layout at the entrance creates a sightline blockage between trail users coming from both sides.
