Move Yonge/Empress SE/SW corner pushbuttons closer to the crosswalks
From "Lets Talk Traffic Willowdale"
Go to the project
The southwest and southeast corner pedestrian pushbuttons to cross Empress are placed so far back from the intersection that sometimes, pedestrians are unaware that one exists, resulting in times where they assume that they don't need to push anything to cross and then have their pedestrian phase skipped altogether.
This then prompts them to cross on the red hand anyways, which creates dangerous situations when the side street green terminates early.

It would be great to figure out a way to move these pushbuttons closer to the crossings, much like what is done at Yonge and Church/Churchill

These push buttons look less obvious than the larger ones with signage too. If the buttons cannot be relocated, upgrading them to the new design with the signage would help people notice them.

This intersection has enough pedestrian traffic that the walk signals should be automatic in the first place.
