More Clear Signage of the No Parking Zone on the West Side of Bales Between Glendora and Anndale

The west side of Bales Ave. between Glendora Ave. and Anndale Dr. often has cars that are parking despite signs showing a no parking zone there, especially on weekends.

I think drivers are unaware of the restriction and the signs that are there are spaced far enough apart that perhaps people aren't noticing them. I informed a driver that was in the process of parking between other parked cars that it was a no parking zone, since they didn't know the area.

I would like to propose adding more signage to make the no parking zone more clear. If one car parks there, there tend to be more cars that park there because they assume that is someone is already parking there, this is a zone where they can also park.

Attached to this submission are pictures I took of cars that were parked there on April 25th and April 26th.

Hi Vicki, I agree with you that we need to have some kind of tool to enforce no parking. But people do know not to park they are taking a calculated risk. Where is the Toronto parking enforcement? I never see them around in our neighborhood enforcing parking.

@John Zhu I contacted the Parking Enforcement manager and Councillor Cheng's office regarding parking issues specific to Avondale, and I was put in touch with Peter Bouhs, who is the Parking Enforcement area supervisor for 32 Division. He was receptive to my concerns, including regarding this stretch of street, and promised to advise officers to step up patrols in Avondale. Since then I have been noticing more parking enforcement, including an officer driving in the neighborhood that I saw this morning on my way to the subway, and I got a callback regarding a parking complaint through the public online portal that I made this afternoon. I still would appreciate better signage on this road. I've had to tell drivers who have just parked that it is a no parking zone on a few occasions. The signs are spaced relatively far apart, and the sign closer to Glendora can be obscured by a tree at certain angles.
