Extended green per direction during rush hour for Hilda/Drewry

The Hilda and Drewry intersection has become a major chokepoint for commuters that live off Yonge St. The main issue is that during morning rush hour (7-9am), there are so many drivers going south and any left turn creates a critical stop for all flow which can last the entire green light cycle. The same situation happens for northbound during the daily afternoon rush hour (5-7pm).
Dedicated left turn lane is not possible due to the lack of space and my previous idea of restricting left turns during these times was shot down because it impacted traffic too much.
Hence, I'm proposing that southbound gets an extra 5s of green before northbound gets green in the morning period, while northbound gets the extra 5s green before the southbound in the afternoon period.
I'm sick and tired of missing 2-3 full light cycles and my child missing her breakfast at daycare because of the traffic.
