Edithvale Pickleball courts

From "Share Your Project and Policy Ideas"

Go to the project

I recall there was some talk about installing pickleball courts at either Hendon Park or Edithvale. Hendon posed a noise issue since those tennis courts are right beside residential homes. There seems to be a very practical area at Edithvale to set up a nice 5 court facility without much heavy construction work (like what's happening at Willowdale Park right now). Instead of 30/60ft regulation dimensions, we could cut a tiny bit off the borders and fit five 28/55ft courts to replace the lone basketball rim that is rarely used. The courts would lie right up against the tree protection zones along the south side of the east parking lot and be about 200-250ft from any residential structure. Noise at this distance would be minimal. The south path is still usable with minimal landscaping required. I've added a scale image to illustrate my idea. If you like this idea, give it a thumbs up and insert some comments. Ideas and feedback welcome!
